About Olympique de Marseille
Olympique de Marseille (commonly known as Marseille or OM) is a French professional football club based in Marseille, competing in Ligue 1 (France’s top flight). Founded in 1899, it has won 26 domestic trophies (10 league titles, 10 Coupe de France, 3 Coupe de la Ligue, 3 Trophée des Champions) and continental honors including 1 UEFA Champions League (joint national record), 1 UEFA Intertoto Cup, and three UEFA Europa League final appearances. Notably, OM became the first French club to win the UEFA Champions League in 1993 under Raymond Goethals, beating Milan 1-0, and claimed its first Ligue 1 title in 18 years in 2010 with former captain Didier Deschamps as manager.

Match Attendance
The club plays at the 67,394-capacity Stade Vélodrome (home since 1937), renovated 2011-2014 for UEFA Euro 2016. It boasts France’s highest average attendance (50,361 in 2018-19) and has a historic rivalry with Paris Saint-Germain in "Le Classique".
OM has changed ownership over the years: purchased by Robert Louis-Dreyfus in 1997, taken over by his widow Margarita in 2010, and 95% acquired by Frank McCourt in 2016. Jacques-Henri Eyraud served as president before Pablo Longoria took over in 2021.
