Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano announced with his iconic phrase "Here we go" that Real Madrid have secured the signing of 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. Romano later updated his report, confirming the transfer fee will be well in excess of €100 million.

Romano stated:

Breaking news: Yan Diomande joins Real Madrid, Here we go! Real Madrid reached an agreement with RB Leipzig this evening for the transfer of the Ivorian winger, for a fee above €100 million. Diomande will fly to Madrid this week to undergo his medical examination and sign a contract running until June 2031.

Romano added that Paris Saint-Germain formally withdrew their offer for Diomande this evening. PSG refused to breach its principles of rational financial management or disrupt squad balance to complete the deal.

Shortly afterwards, Romano shared further details regarding the transfer, revealing the fee stands "well over €100 million". All formal transfer procedures, including document exchange between clubs, travel arrangements and contract signing, will take place next week.

Minutes before Romano published the news, RMC Sport reported that Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of the race after refusing to meet the excessive asking price, and the French club was also left disappointed with the stance adopted by Diomande’s camp.

The 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande registered 13 goals and 9 assists across 36 appearances for RB Leipzig last season. He featured in four matches at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, providing one assist. His current market valuation on Transfermarkt stands at €90 million.
