Germany suffered a shock elimination at the FIFA World Cup after losing 4-5 to Paraguay on penalties in the Round of 32 knockout fixture. Jonathan Tah’s headed strike in extra time was disallowed, as Antonio committed a foul against the Paraguay goalkeeper inside the penalty area prior to the goal. Per Sky Sport Germany, Jürgen Klopp voiced his bafflement over the controversial call during an appearance on MagentaTV’s football programme.

Klopp commented: “If goals scored this way get ruled out as illegal, then Arsenal should not be Premier League champions. Sixty percent of their goals are created through this exact kind of movement and contact. That is why this refereeing decision is utterly ridiculous.”
