Liverpool have pulled out of signing Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo as they refuse to match Manchester City’s £180,000-a-week salary offer for him.
Man City are willing to pay Semenyo around £180,000 per week, plus additional bonuses, a wage package Liverpool are unwilling to meet. The Reds held talks for the player months ago, and Semenyo was keen on a move to Anfield before Man City entered the race with the lucrative salary offer.
Liverpool’s interest has faded gradually, as they have no desire to compete with Man City, compounded by the huge wage terms City tabled for the forward.
