The player has officially notified Atletico Madrid of his decision to transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. The latter will complete this permanent transfer with a fee of €40 million, beating Aston Villa in the race for the player.
Aston Villa had reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid over the transfer earlier today, but the club pulled out of the pursuit as Gallagher failed to give his final nod.
