On a show aired last Tuesday, Real Madrid TV journalist Paul Tenorio made a bombshell claim, stating that João Cancelo’s move to Barcelona is yet another shady deal orchestrated by Joan Laporta.

“It seems to me that Cancelo’s transfer is highly suspicious – and even more so when Barcelona is involved,” he said.
“‘I take the player on loan, and you foot the bill for the loss?’ That’s exactly the modus operandi of Laporta and Deco. Pini Zahavi and Jorge Mendes are their go-to agents; the club tells them to scout the market for players at a certain price point, hunting for bargains.”
“Cancelo is either the ‘least bad’ or the best player they can get their hands on. Anyone who still thinks Barcelona has the financial muscle to wield significant clout in the transfer market is simply fooling themselves…”
