Real Madrid has officially announced that it has mutually agreed with head coach Xabi Alonso to end his tenure at the club.
"This came as a bit of a surprise to everyone, but the truth is that Xabi (Alonso) didn’t have very good relationships with several players in the squad. I think we’ll find out which players those are in the coming matches, because the attitudes of Real Madrid’s players might undergo some changes. But regardless, I do believe Alonso had a really tense rapport with some of the team members.
I don’t think Florentino was too fond of his playing style either. Even though Alonso is one of their own and a legend from his playing days, I feel that his style of play didn’t quite fit—both his on-pitch tactics and training methods were not aligned with what Florentino and the players wanted.
I think the tensions just kept escalating, from mild to severe, until eventually..."
