Juventus are speeding up negotiations to bring Federico Chiesa back to the club.
Despite being constrained by the January transfer window budget, Juventus have held a new round of talks with Liverpool recently. Liverpool are asking for over €10 million, with an ideal price of around €15 million, and they prefer to seal a permanent transfer deal.
Juventus have adopted a more cautious stance. Given that Chiesa has only played 90 minutes across his last eight Premier League appearances, the club has concerns over his physical condition and initially hoped to complete the deal in the form of a loan with an option to buy.
A potential compromise could see Juventus submit a loan offer with an obligation to buy, where the mandatory purchase clause is tied to Chiesa’s number of appearances. This would not only meet Liverpool’s demand for guaranteed fund recovery but also provide Juventus with assurance to assess the player’s fitness.
Currently, the deal is regarded as a potential win-win situation. Liverpool can recoup part of their investment from the fringe player, while Juventus can secure a Serie A-proven talent capable of immediate impact. For the 28-year-old Chiesa, gaining much-needed playing time and trust under Luciano Spalletti will also help him fight for a spot in the World Cup squad.
