Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove has been forced to bid farewell to Serie A due to heart health regulations and is planning to join Watford in England. Ahead of Roma’s match against Sassuolo tonight, Bove appeared in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico and received a hero’s ovation from the home fans.

Back in late 2024, Bove collapsed suddenly during a match against Inter Milan and subsequently underwent surgery to implant a cardioverter-defibrillator.

As Italian sports regulations strictly prohibit players wearing such devices from participating in official matches, the 23-year-old Bove had to terminate his contract with Roma to pursue opportunities to play abroad.

The 23-year-old midfielder has made 92 appearances for Roma in total, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
