Following Rúben Amorim’s departure as manager, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand hosted a live stream on his personal channel, where he made a bold claim that Premier League managers like Mikel Arteta and Unai Emery would be interested in taking over the role at Man Utd.

When discussing Amorim’s successor, Ferdinand said: “(If given the chance) Unai Emery would definitely seize this opportunity without hesitation. I think the only one in the entire Premier League who would sit there and say, ‘I’m satisfied with the status quo, I’m happy, I don’t need other options’ is Pep Guardiola.”
When the guest proposed Mikel Arteta taking charge of Man Utd, Ferdinand replied: “No, no, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it. He’ll never say it, he could never say it out loud (that he wants to manage Man Utd). But I’ll tell you, Mikel Arteta will sit there and think carefully about this matter.”
Ferdinand’s remarks were immediately picked up and widely reported by various English media outlets.
