Arsenal star Declan Rice has been banned from driving after being caught speeding twice on the same road within a single week while at the wheel of his £40,000 Range Rover.

The £105 million-rated 26-year-old midfielder was clocked driving at 37 mph (approximately 60 km/h) on the A217 on January 3 last year, where the speed limit is set at 30 mph (approximately 48 km/h).

He resides in a multi-million-pound property in Surrey.

Just five days later, on January 8, Rice was snapped again on the same stretch of road, this time hitting 49 mph (approximately 77 km/h) in a 40 mph (approximately 64 km/h) zone.

The England international, who lives in a £3 million mansion in Surrey, did not appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday but was handed a £2,185 fine.

In addition, with six points already on his driving licence, Rice accumulated a total of 15 penalty points, resulting in a six-month driving ban.

His fine breaks down into a £1,500 fine, a £600 surcharge and £85 in court costs.

The Arsenal ace joined the Chelsea academy in 2006 and signed his first professional contract with West Ham United in 2015.

In 2023, he captained West Ham to victory over Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final, with David Moyes’ side securing a 2-1 win.

That same summer, he joined Arsenal for a British record transfer fee of £105 million.

Rice is currently in a relationship with 26-year-old Lauren Fryer, and the couple have one child together.
