Manchester United player Amad Diallo is currently competing in the AFCON with the Cote d'Ivoire national team, and he recently spoke about relevant topics in an interview.

On his feelings about the strong start at the AFCON
Amad said: “I feel really good on the pitch, relaxed and free. Both my physical and mental states are in a great phase. I try to play at my highest level on the pitch.”
On his role in this national team
Amad said: “I came here to be one of the offensive focal points. Although I’m only 23, I have accumulated a lot of experience. Now, I’m one of the leaders of this team, and I’m very happy to take on this responsibility. I try to give some advice to the younger players, even though we’re all actually quite young. I strive to share the experience I’ve gained at Manchester United.”
On comparisons with legends like Didier Drogba or Yaya Touré
Amad said: “It’s impossible to compare myself with legends like Drogba or Yaya Touré. They have written their own history and are legends of African football. I try to follow my own path, stay humble, and help my country win the 'fourth star'. I also tell my teammates to stay humble, because that’s the difference between a good player and a great one. Staying humble, focused and concentrated in every game is what makes the difference right now, and it’s exactly what we’re doing.”
On his long-term personal goal
Amad said: "Winning the African Ballon d’Or is one of my life goals. I will do everything I can to achieve this goal one day in the future."
