Matchweek 21 of the Premier League saw Arsenal play out a 0-0 home draw with Liverpool. An unsavoury incident marred the closing stages, as Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli shoved Liverpool defender Conor Bradley, who was lying injured on the pitch, sparking a heated melee between both sides.
In stoppage time, Liverpool’s Bradley appeared to sustain an injury while attempting to clear the ball and fell to the ground. Martinelli then picked up the ball and threw it at Bradley. The provocative act quickly ignited tensions, and Martinelli proceeded to shove the grounded Liverpool full-back in an attempt to force him off the field of play, which directly triggered a mass confrontation between the two teams.
Referee Anthony Taylor subsequently showed Martinelli a yellow card, and Bradley was substituted off by Joe Gomez.
