Matchweek 21 of the Premier League saw Arsenal play out a 0-0 home draw with Liverpool. Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai spoke to Camel Live following his side’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
Q: On the team’s performance against a top side
A: We went up against an exceptional team. We proved once again the quality that won us the league title last season.
This is a step forward in recent weeks, yes. We showed again that we can compete with a league-leading side, and we need to carry this momentum into the coming weeks.
Q: On Liverpool’s fighting spirit
A: I think the key is the fight, because in the Premier League, you have to battle to get good results, and today every single one of us, everyone, proved we have what it takes to do that.
We have to keep pushing and giving our all like we did today.
Of course, it’s not easy to play against such a good team here, but I don’t think any side in the Premier League likes to sit back and defend passively. So we kept possession as much as we could in the first half, and we did the same in the second half.
Q: On his wayward shots
A: It seems I need to practice my free kicks more, and my shooting technique too, but they defended well, and we got a point.
Q: On Gabriel Martinelli shoving Conor Bradley
A: I saw Conor twist his knee. I don’t know exactly what happened to him, but obviously he wasn’t trying to waste time by staying on the pitch—he was in immense pain, so much so that he didn’t even know where he was lying. Then Gabriel ran over and pushed him off the field.
I understand you want to win, and we want to win too, but I think a player’s health is more important than anything else.
