Bukayo Saka is on the verge of finalising a new five-year contract with Arsenal worth around £300,000 a week.

Saka’s original deal was set to expire in June 2027, but negotiations over an extension have been ongoing, and the new contract is now being finalised.

The 24-year-old England winger will stay at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2031, a huge boost for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Top clubs across world football would be eager to sign Saka if he were available, but they are well aware that his only desire is to remain at the club where he has played since childhood.

The salary in this new contract fully reflects Saka’s status as a top player in the Premier League and Europe, and he is also set to play a key role for England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A product of Arsenal’s academy, Saka joined the club at the age of seven. Since making his first-team debut in 2018, he has evolved into an indispensable part of Arteta’s attacking system, and the club is determined to build its team around him.

This new contract follows recent extension agreements signed by William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the past few months.

Saka has been a key figure in Arsenal’s recent push for the Premier League title. In the 2023/24 season, he registered 20 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, helping Arsenal finish second, just two points behind Manchester City. In the 2022/23 season, he scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists.

Last season, Saka also made important contributions as Arsenal kept pace with league leaders Liverpool in the early stages. However, a hamstring injury in December left Arteta’s squad ravaged by fitness issues, pushing the team into a difficult spell.

So far this season, Saka has scored seven goals in 27 appearances, helping Arsenal top the Premier League standings and secure an unbeaten record in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

In total, Saka has made over 250 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 77 goals and providing 78 assists. He is also a regular member of the England national team, having earned 48 caps for the Three Lions.
